Hi Everyone,
I've been writing like a year now on a impressive application for my office.
In fact I made my own "GIS"-interface, but the only thing I'm not able to do is to read a Shapefile with VB.NET or something else. That's when I came across with MapWindow.
My question is, instead of rewriting my whole application, is it possible to render a shapefile on a normal Panel or Picturebox using functions off the Mapwindow dll's?
Grtz

Hi geemuse,
You could do it with either the COM object based OCX version or the .NET 6 version. Both would work but would require a bit of work on your part. And honestly you're much better off simply dropping the Map control and letting it do the rendering for you. That way you get all of the mouse controls built in.
There are pros and cons to both versions.
The OCX is more mature but COM based (Thats called MapWindow 4.x)
The .NET version is new and in a steady state of flux (Thats called DotSpatial)
