Show only selected items after a query

Hi all.
I ran a query on my Attribute Table so my layer (a shapefile) would only display shapes where FieldX>0. When I complete the query, it highlights the shapes where FieldX>0 and I select View > Show Only Selected Shapes. What I think this function is supposed to do is hide those shapes where FieldX=<0. However, it's still showing all of these shapes in my layer. Is there a way to hide shapes based on a query or do I have to copy the dbf and shp into a new layer and remove the shapes where FieldX=<0?
Thanks!

In addition to using the query tool, go into the Legend Editor for the layer, and choose the Coloring Scheme. Create two entries in the editor, one for >0 and one for <=0. Uncheck the "Show" checkbox for the <=0 item.
(There's a small bug in this section -- the Apply button is enabled only for the first time you change the value of the checkbox. To workaround, uncheck then recheck the "other" item to re-enable the Apply button.)
