I am not sure what this client would do but here is what I am looking for in such a plug-in.
- link to SQL Server
- ability to modify data based on custom shape file (ie populate table in SQL Server with name of shape for all addressess in withing shape)
If you check out the SQL Server mappoint pluggin from MS there is a lot that they are doing with such a plug-in.

This client plug-in can import shape file into Data Table that you can modify and populate it up to PostGreSQL/PostGIS server.
