Hi.
I am a newbie and I am try to create a Point shapefile with button clicks in the map area. When I use the MapMouseDown event, it seems to return button clicks anywhere in the MapWindow application (i.e. not just in the map area as I expected).
Can anyone point me to some sample code that creates a point shapefile by clicking on the map to create the individual point locations?

Could you post some code so we can see what is wrong?
You could also look at the Shapefile editor plug-in or this sample:
Draw circles
You did set SendMouseUp and/or SendMouseDown
