MapWindow 4 - ActiveX Control Programming : MapWindow Discussion Forum
Okay so here are the steps I took in doing this: Step 1 : Declare new shapefile, new shape, new two points and some double Step 2 : Give xmin, ymin, xmax, ymax values to the points. (xmax,ymin and xmin,ymax) Step 3 : assign points to shape Step 4 : open shapefile

Step 1 : Declare new shapefile, new shape, new two points and some double
Step 2 : Give xmin, ymin, xmax, ymax values to the points. (xmax,ymin and xmin,ymax)
Step 3 : assign points to shape
Step 4 : open shapefile
Step 5 : start editing shapes
Step 6 : assign shape to shapefile
Step 7 : stop editing shapes
So where did I go wrong and the polyline I was trying to generate did not exist? Please help, thank you.

After step 3 you should add the new shape to the shapefile.
Next add some cell values to update the attribute table, then save and close the new shapefile
Continue with step 4.

So I did what you said and move step six inbetween three and four. I also add a part before I assigned the points. It worked like a charm. Thanks!
