Our project has forty differnt users who hope to use mapwindows destop application. Approximately a third of these users cannot download because of ocx registration...All of the machines have XP and are 32 bit machines. What is going on here...I myself have 3 computers and my windows 7 64 b

download succesfully but may other 2 machines which are XP 32 Bit cannot download

starting our demonstrations with mapwindows.... Previously we were sucessfull with the november version....

Can't you download or can't you install?
The latest installer for v4.8 has been build up from scratch and requires only PowerUser rights.
It is also better checking the dependencies.
Could you try install the latest installer on a pc that is having trouble and report the error message you're getting?
