I am pretty new to the GIS world and am trying to self teach on MW. I have developed a basemap with various land ownership/usage data, topographic maps, and aerial photos. I would like to add some sort of DEM to the database to use in conjuction with the other files I have in the basemap. I went on to the Montana GIS portal website and they have the USGS DEM at the following website - [nris.state.mt.us]. Now when try to add these DEM files into MW i get the following messages (1) "Conversion from string "04 17" to type 'Double' is not valid." and (2) "Error in ImportDEMFormat importing C...\File path\Object reference not set to an instance of an object." I am not sure what either of these mean.
After I hit ok on both of the messages the DEM loads into MW, but does not project to my current basemap - which is in State Plane Coordinates - FIPS 2500. It appears very small in comparison to the basemap. The website I got DEM from gave some pointers to adjust the files for non-Arc programs but neither of those worked.
I realize it is most likely user error, but any insight into these issues would be great, Thanks!
Can you submit an issue report in Mantis our issue tracker and refer to this post and add the link to download the DEM files?
