I have a huge ECW file of 3.4GB, when I open it in MapWindow it take several minutes.
I think splitting the ECW in smaller rectangle files (tiles) might improve loading.
But I'm having a hard time finding out how to do that. I've tried gdal2tiles but that is creating tiles in png format for webservers.

Does anybody have any experience with this?
