Using plug-in template from 4.8 RC1 in VS2010 Basic

Warnings are shown in VS2010 Basic when using a plug-in template generated in MW 4.8.1 (RC1) with references added from the current MW 4.8.2 beta installation:
Warning 1 A reference was created to embedded interop assembly 'Interop.MapWinGIS' because of an indirect reference to that assembly from assembly 'MapWinInterfaces'. Consider changing the 'Embed Interop Types' property on either assembly.
Is this serious?
Anyway, when building the bare plug-in and using the resulting *.dll and *.pdb files in MW 4.8.2 beta the plug-in is not listed under the Plugins menu.
Any hint or idea about what is going on?
