Generate Contour Shapefile
This tool will create a shapefile with contour lines showing the values in the input raster data file. These inputs are typically elevation but could be any value. Note that MapWindow GIS does not not support editing 3D shapefiles.
To generate a contour shapefile from a raster file:
Select [GIS TOOLS].
Select [RASTER]
Select [GENERATE A CONTOUR SHAPEFILE ]
Select Input Raster file: Either loaded layer or External File
Select contour options: either contour intervals or fixed levels
Check Add to Map if required
Browse to location for new file and enter filename.
Click on [Generate]
